KP SINGH AT UPCOMING ART FAIRS

Look for KP Singh at art fairs in the Indianapolis area over the coming months, where he will be exhibiting his exquisite hand-colored drawings and prints. This will be the 48th consecutive year that KP has participated in these art fairs.

KP SINGH RECEIVES HONORARY DOCTORATE
Butler University – December 16th, 2017

  KP delivered the Winter Commencement speech to Butler University graduates after receiving an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the institution. In awarding the degree, Butler University President James M. Danko cited KP as an individual whose “life and work reflect Butler University’s core values and whose insights and life lessons might positively impact our students. Your life experiences, accomplishments, and personal involvement in efforts to support and strengthen our community locally, regionally, and globally provide an inspirational example for all Butler community members.”

KP Singh to receive the Wilbur Peat Award for Outstanding Contribution and Appreciation of Indiana’s Architectural Heritage from the Society of Architectural Historians at a banquet in Indianapolis on April 6, 2011.

KP Singh to receive the Hoosier Heritage Lifetime Achievement Award from Heritage Place at a special celebration in Indianapolis in June 2011. “The Hoosier Heritage Lifetime Achievement Award is a recognition of community leaders who have contributed a significant portion of their lives toward the betterment of the Indianapolis community.”

K.P. Singh selected to receive Dr. Bhagat Singh Third Community Empowerment Award on October 16, 2010 at the 2010 National Gala of the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund. The award celebrates members of the Sikh American community who embody the spirit of seva (selfless service). In particular, the award recognizes “efforts to encourage civic engagement and cultural diversity as a model to be followed.”

For the 40th year in a row, K.P. displays his artwork in the Broad Ripple Art Fair (May 15-16). His participation is highlighted in an Indianapolis Star article, titled “Art is Fair Game.”

K.P. Singh delivers invocation for Indiana General Assembly. On March 1, KP Singh had the distinct honor of delivering the invocation at the opening session of the Indiana General Assembly. This is a historic first for the Sikh community in Indiana.

K.P. Singh artwork featured in “Portraits of the Artists.” From Indianapolis Monthly: “This month, renowned local photographer Tom Casalini focuses his camera on 14 of Indy’s greatest artists. The Indianapolis Legacy Project, an exhibit on view at the Indianapolis Art Center beginning Jan. 29, features his shadowy black-and-white prints of Lois Templeton, K.P. Singh, and Walter Knabe contextualized in front of their work.” Indianapolis Art Center, January 29 to April 14, 2010.

For the 40th year in a row, K.P. will display his artwork in the Broad Ripple Art Fair (May 15-16), in Indianapolis. K.P. will be exhibiting his artwork at St. Luke’s Methodist Church Art Gallery from August 30 through September 30, 2009. The Exhibit will include selected art pieces that depict architectural landmarks from Indiana and around the USA, as well as international locales. KP will make several guest appearances to discuss his artwork. A portion of the sales proceeds will benefit the Indianapolis Interfaith Hunger Initiative.

K.P. recently had the honor of participating in an Inter-Faith prayer service at St. Paul’s Catholic Center in Bloomington, Indiana, which included the presence of His Holiness, The Dalai Lama. KP’s drawing of “Cathedrals of Spirit” graced the program cover, and a specially prepared print of “Cathedrals of Spirit” was presented to His Holiness on behalf of the Inter-Faith prayer service planning committee. The exhibit will include original drawings and prints of historic landmarks from Indiana and around the world, many of which are featured in his recently published book: The Art and Spirit of K.P.
