Description: Established as Indiana’s first free high school in 1894, Shortridge High School was once ranked as one of the best high schools in the nation. Closed as a high school in 1981, this beautiful building still serves as a middle school, and sits proudly on Meridian Street, just a few miles south of the Governor’s Mansion.
